Forgot Your iPhone or iPad Passcode? How to Reset Your Password
Here are the steps to reset your iPhone or iPad password if you forgot the passcode:
Connect your iPhone or iPad to a computer with a USB cable.
Open iTunes on the computer.

For iPhone 8 or earlier: Press and hold the Home and Power buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds, until you see the recovery mode screen.
For iPhone X or later: Quickly press and release the Volume Up button, then the Volume Down button, then hold the Side button until you see the recovery mode screen.

In iTunes, select your device and click the Restore iPhone (or Restore iPad) button.
Follow the on-screen prompts to restore and update your device using an iTunes backup or as a new device.
Once restored, your passcode will be reset and you can set a new passcode. If you restored from a backup, your data and settings will be restored.
If you don't have a backup, all data on the device will be lost. You can instead choose to update and restore the device as new to skip setting a passcode during setup.
