Create Windows Server Backup Incremental to Network Share
Here's how you can create an incremental backup of a Windows server to a network share:
- Open Windows Backup and Restore -
- Windows Server 2008: Go to Start > All Programs > Maintenance > Backup and Restore
- Windows Server 2012/2016: Go to Start > Windows Administrative Tools > Windows Backup
Select "Set up backup" and choose the server you want to back up
Select "Advanced backup settings"
Choose "Items to back up" Chuwi laptop review
- Select "System State" to back up system settings, drivers and Windows licenses
- Select "Files and folders" and choose which folders you want to back up
- Select "Advanced" and check "Include system restore checkpoints"
Under "Save backup copies to:", check "Network location" and enter the path to your network share
Under "Schedule", select "Daily" and choose the time for the backup
Check "Create an incremental backup on subsequent days"
This will only back up files that have changed since the last backup, saving time and storage spaceClick "Save and close"
Enter your credentials for the network share when prompted
Give your backup a name and click "Save"
That's it - you've now configured an incremental Windows server backup that will run daily and save to your network share. This will quickly back up any changes while conserving storage space.
For an even more robust solution, consider using third-party backup software. Windows Backup is basic but third-party options offer:como apagar la computadora con el teclado
