How to Download Pictures from iPhone Using File Explorer or Windows Explorer

Another easy way to download pictures from your iPhone to PC is with the aid of a File Explorer or Windows Explorer on your PC. However, this is done by connecting your iPhone to your PC (Windows or Mac book) via a USB cable. When connecting your device, you have to be 100 % positive about the computer against virus malware attacks. A popup comes on if you trust the computer or not, or another which asks whether you would allow your photos and videos to be accessed.

On your File Explorer or Windows Explorer, your iPhone appears under “This PC” after you’ve granted permission to access photos and videos or trusted the computer. Click on your iPhone and go straight to your photo file - “DCIM.” Pictures and videos on iPhone are stored under 100APPLE folder, and if there are many media files, there will be 101APPLE, 102APPLE and so on. Select whichever you want (your pictures may be in the form of .JPEG or .PNG files), copy and paste them on a folder on your PC.

However, if you can’t find your iPhone on your computer, try to adjust the cable or change the cable or adjust some settings on your device. Finally, you have succeeded in downloading your pictures from iPhone to PC via File Explorer or Windows Explorer.

Steps on how to download pictures from iPhone to PC via File or Windows Explorer

Tips on Install Multiple Apps on Android at Once

How to Install Multiple Apps on Android at Once

Everytime you switch smartphones, you have to install all the apps that you had on your last Android phone all over again. Reasons for changing smartphones can range from losing devices to giving in to impulse and buying a new shiny toy. Whatever the reason, you have to begin with a clean slate (or a clean home screen).

An average user has about 90 apps installed on his device at any given time. Surprisingly, most people don’t use half of them for long periods of time, but still find it difficult to uninstall them. What if I need it in the future? It's not really troubling me anyway. Let it be.

The problem? Installing that many apps one-by-one can be cumbersome, time consuming, boring, and frustrating.

Solution? Let’s find out.
1. INSTALL FROM MOBILE

We are going to mass-install all the apps using their APK files. For the uninitiated, APK is a file format used for Android apps. Like EXE for Windows.

If you don’t have the app's APK files, you can download them easily at APK Mirror. It is a trusted and verified source for APKs which is operated and maintained by the Android Police guys. I will be using this method to install Flappy Bird that is no longer available in the Play Store and PUBG. Yes, I don't have PUBG but not because I don't play it. Don't judge me!

You can search for any app here, even those that are no longer available in the Play Store. Once you find it, you can download any version you want. I suggest you download and keep a copy on your PC for future installs as well. Once installed, you can easily update them so there is no need to download them all over again.

Got all the APK files on your mobile? Good.

Open APK Installer and you will be greeted with a colorful interface. Select Install APKs. The app will scan your mobile and SD card for APK files and then list them in order. It will also tell you whether the APK is already installed or not.

Select all the apps that you want to batch-install at once on your Android and click on Install APKs at the bottom of the screen.

At this point, if you have not allowed your phone to install unknown apps, you will see a message like the one in the image below.

Click on the Settings button and select 'Allow from this source' to continue. It works if you have Developer Options enabled. If you haven't, then from the Settings app, head over to the About menu and tap on your Android version repeatedly to enable it.

Once done, hit the back button and you will be asked to confirm the installation.

Hit Install and you are done.

You only need to do this once and all the other selected apps will be installed automatically.

It won’t take much time since the apps are already downloaded on your Android phone. Your phone just has to install them.

As you can see in the screenshot below, both the apps were successfully installed. Are wondering what launcher I am using here? That’s Nova Launcher and it is super cool.

APK Installer is a pretty powerful app. You can manage apps, do batch install or uninstall, and even run a security scan of all the apps on your Android phone.

2. INSTALL FROM PC

I understand. I hear you. Especially when you are dealing with 50-100 apps at once. You would rather install everything from your PC. The good news is that APK Install is also available for Windows platform. Let’s see how it works.

Download the software using the link shared below and install the program. Launch it when done.

Open APK Installer app on your Android again and select PC Version option.

Inside, ADB (USB Debugging) should be enabled when you connect your mobile via USB to your PC. If it is not, click on it to open Developer options and enable USB Debugging there.

At this point, when you launch APK Installer on PC, drivers should be installed automatically. In case that doesn't happen, you can directly download and install them from here. Make sure you choose your smartphone manufacturer from the list.

If APK Installer (Windows) fails to recognize your device, reboot your PC. When you launch the installer again, your device name should be visible on the title bar.

Click on Tools on the lower left of the Installer and select Open APK file. Select all the apps you want to install. I will be choosing Weather Channel and Pokemon Go for this test.

Once you have selected the apps, you will see more options. Select the checkbox next to all the apps that you want to install. You can also choose to install these apps on Android at once on SD card. Now click on the Install button at the bottom to begin the installation process.

You will see Installing message next to Tools.

Wait until the status changes to Done. Now check your mobile. The apps should be there.

APK Install (Windows) can be used install or uninstall multiple apps at once on your Android. Just like the app version. Choose as per your convenience. You may also like:Gihosoft Mobile Transfer: 1 Click Data Transfer from Phone to Phone
MULTITASKING IS EVERYWHERE

If humans can handle multiple tasks at once, smartphones need to be better than that. That is why they were created. This feature should have been part of Google Play Store, and it was until Google decided to remove this functionality. Maybe they will add it back again. Maybe not.

Meanwhile, this is a good way to install multiple apps in one go. Don't delete the APK files once you are done. You can use them in the future too. You will just have to update all the apps after you are done. That's easy though.

Do you have a lot of unused apps in your Android app drawer? It happens with me all the time. So I suggest you to remove unused apps and reclaim the storage space on your Android.

Top 8 New and Fresh Android Apps for August 2018

How do you choose from a store which has more than 3.3 million apps? Rather, how do you segregate the new from the old and the good from the bad?

It's no secret that the Play Store is humongous. Here, you'll find some useful apps like Gihosoft Free Android Data Recovery and at the same time, you'll find plenty of apps that will bombard you with ads or steal information from you.

So how do you choose? Well, we've got you covered in that aspect with our list of the best new Android apps for August 2018.

This month's list has a cool notes app followed by an even cooler weather app and a light and fast browser. Let's get started.

1. NOTES BY FIREFOX

Notes by Firefox is the latest app from Mozilla and the name pretty much gives it away. Similar to Google Keep, Notes by Firefox is a simple note-keeping app that lets you add, delete and edit your notes.

However, that's not all this app is about. It also automatically syncs your notes with the Firefox browser so that the note-keeping job is a seamless one.

Quite obviously, the app requires a username and password to sign-in. The interface is simple with no fancy features. Just add a note and you'll be able to access it on your computer and vice versa.

NOTE: For adding notes from the browser, you'd have to download a separate add-on.

Download Notes by Firefox

2. KIWI BROWSER

Looking for a new browser? Try Kiwi. Not the fruit, the browser. Okay, that was a lame joke, my bad!

On a serious note, Kiwi Browser is the newest kid on the block and looks similar to Chrome, as it's based on Chromium. However, that's just on the surface.

Dig a little deeper and you'll find an amazing bunch of useful features such as a built-in ad-blocker, Night mode, and a custom downloads folder. Developed by XDA member arnaud42, Kiwi Browser is fast, light and has been cleverly designed.

The feature I loved the most is that it lets you play YouTube videos in the background. So, just in case you're in love with one of those cool YouTube mixes, just play it in the background and go about doing your job. Plus, you can also have the address bar at the bottom, a treat for phones with tall displays.

Another feature which sets this browser above the rest is the night mode. Unlike Chrome, where you have to do a bit of setup to enable dark mode, Kiwi lets you enable the night mode from the drop-down menu.

3. CX FILE EXPLORER

If you are not impressed by the default file manager on your phone, you can give the Cx File Explorer app a shot.

With a clean interface, Cx File Explorer aims to simplify the work of browsing through the contents of your Android. The app is segregated into three parts,

Local: for tracking app downloads and other storage-related works

Library: for images, audio, and documents

Network: to wirelessly transfer contents from phone to PC.

Other than that, it has a nifty Analyzer feature to analyze and manage your phone's storage from time to time.

It sifts through your phone and lets you know which files are eating up space and for which you should delete the app cache files.

4. AMOLED WALLPAPERS

The perks of having a good AMOLED wallpaper app is many. Not only do you get your fill of cool desktop background, they also help in saving the phone's battery life.

AMOLED Wallpapers has a pretty cool collection of HD and 4K home screen backgrounds. From simple Material Design-inspired wallpapers to chic cityscapes — it has them all.

5. TYT PLUS

TYT Plus brings The Young Turks's content from their channel to your Android phone. Comprising of videos, live shows, and podcasts, the TYT Plus app can be your go-to app if you want to stay updated on politics, sports, or even pop culture.

The app is free on the Play Store, however, you can upgrade to the premium Plus service for $4.99/month. The Plus service gives you access to a few exclusive shows and podcasts.

6. SIEMPO -THE PHONE FOR HUMANS

Let's face it, we are all addicted to our phones. Be it Instagram, YouTube or even the plain news app, we can spend minutes, if not hours, on these apps. And Siempo attempts to address the issue of digital addiction with its unique app.

It's a launcher app which replaces your Android’s home screen. You won't find any of those fancy app drawers or funky icon packs. Instead, you will be greeted by a goal message (which you have to set when doing the initial setup) and a black and white background. You may also like:Gihosoft Mobile Transfer: 1 Click Data Transfer from Phone to Phone

All the useful apps like messages and emails will be on the first screen. The funny thing is you'll be asked to flag the apps which distract you the most and they will be set on the screen farthest from the home screen.

Not that Siempo won't let you open the distracting apps, it's your right and it doesn't stop you from doing that. It'll just remind you of your goal before you hit the flagged icon. As they say, you can lead the horse to the water but you can't force him to drink from it.

Siempo also addresses distracting notifications by displaying them in intervals. Given that when most of us get distracted by the even the smallest notification, I suppose we all should try Siempo for at least a week or so, and see the productivity levels.

7. NAVBAR WEATHER

With the navigation bar becoming a common feature, developer Pesta Apps has come up with an incredible solution — displaying the weather information on the navigation bar. Yep, you read that right.

Navbar Weather lets you display the weather information in the form of graphs and charts at the bottom of your phone's display. And along with that, it gives you plenty of customization options to choose from such as transparent background, graph type, etc.

Also, if you have a set of really sharp eyes, you can enable the pressure index, humidity levels, and wind speed on the bar as well.

My personal favorite is just having the current weather temperature icon. This way, I can get rid of the weather widget and also get to flaunt a different home screen look. At the same time, I get to keep an eye on the present weather conditions. How cool is that?

Download Navbar Weather

8. MUSIC PLAYER & AUDIO PLAYER

The joy of listening to offline songs on your Android is something different. You don't have to worry about internet speed, bandwidth or availability of a song. All you have to do is choose your song and hit the play button.

Music Player & Audio Player is the app for you if you're looking for an offline music player with a good equalizer support. It has a 15 band equalizer controller and also lets you create custom presets.

Aside from that, it has all the regular features of a music player like Treble & Bass control, Playlist, Favorites, among others.
