吴晓波在《在跌荡一百年》下中曾经这样给中国的企业家画过一幅像：上世纪70年代末和80年代初，创业的企业家基本上都是中国社会的边缘人物。1978年以后中国的经济发展水平很低，各行各业里，你看到很多企业家，无论是IT还是服装，冒险是他们的一个特点。第二个特点就是能忍。用鲁冠球的话说就是“忍者神龟”，能够比较善于妥协的、比较低调的，比较能够顺应中国国情的这些企业家。
